This is our trip to Provence June 25th -July 1st 2024.
June 25(Tuesday): arriving to Marseille from Budapest with Austrian Airlines. BUD 14:45pm – 19:15 pm Marseille. Get the rental car drive to L’Isle -sur-la-Sorgue. This is the apartment.
June 26(Wednesday): Saint-Remy-de-Provence market (33 min drive). Leave around 9:00-9:30am for the farmer’s market one of the biggest in Provence. Visit Saint Paul Monastery where Vicent Van Gogh stayed for one year and painted Starry-night. Visit Site archéologique de Glanum for Roman ruins. Lunch at Le Cafe du Soleil 11:30-3:00pm ..visit Eygalieres if still time.
Evening: reservation for dinner at Restaurant Agastache or Restaurant La Petit Henri(Michelin) or Les Balades Des Saveurs

June 27 (Thursday): Lourmarin, Bonnieux and surroundings
start the day with stopping at Cave de Bonnieux for lavender fields than next to the field framing Lacoste and visit Lourmarin (43″ drive from our base). Philosopher Albert Camus lived in Lourmarin. Visit Lourmarin Chateau. eat lunch at Bouchon tapas style French food
A: On the way back stop at Les Agnels – Distillerie BIO de Lavande & Plantes aromatiques for the 3pm English tour or visit some lavender fields from this map
don’t miss Vue sur Le Petit Cabanon Aux Lavandes after Saignon
B: stop in Bonnieux if not very hot

June 28th (Friday): Nimes ( the French Rome), Pont du Garde, Avignon
Or switch with Lourmarin (farmer’s market day if not done Saint Remy’s)
start with Nimes ( around 1 hour drive), to see:
- the arena – Roman amphitheater
- Museum Romanite
- La Maison Carrée – Roman temple (beautiful from the outside but not much to see in the inside)
- le Jardin de la Fontains – 17th century park
Les Halles – farmer’s market to get food for picnic and picnic in the park – le Jardin de la Fontains
Pont du Garde – next; park at Parking Rive Gauche where the Museum and Visitor Center is.
maybe Avignon to see from the outside Palais de Papes and Pont De Avignon
Dinner 7:15pm at La Maison de Celou
June 29(Saturday): Valensole plateau
start the day by heading to Moustiers Sainte Marie, on the way there quick stop at Domaine Les Grandes Marges and Lavandes Angelvin (lavender field with lone tree in the background)
after Valensole stop at this field – rolling hills of lavender
Moustiers Sainte Marie (village built on the rock) , walk to the chapel for a great view of the village and stroll through faïence pottery shops.Have lunch there and ice cream at L’Etoile Givrée.
